A short clarification as to the correct terms to be used in speech when referring to the TOXIC POISON now in ALL Australian drinking water ....
Currently, people believe that they are drinking ' FLUORIDE ' (as associated with a more 'natural' form ie. Calcium fluoride ( CaF2 ) : an insoluble ionic compound of calcium and fluorine. It occurs naturally as the mineral Fluorite (also called fluorspar), and it is the source of most of the world's Fluorine

But the reality is the community is drinking DiSodium HexaFluorosilicic Acid abbreviated to (common 'lay' name) FLUOROSILICATE, a toxic by-product from the Aluminium smelters and fertilizer industry and used as RAT POISON (Yes, you read right) !!
S6 FLUOROSILICATE contains impurities and heavy metals inclusive of Arsenic, Mercury, Lead, Aluminium and Cadmium.
FLUOROSILICATE compounds are classified as S6 Poisons - the warnings is, 'TOXIC IF INGESTED'.
ie. YUM? Would you HONESTLY drink this stuff if you care about your long-term 'health'?

Please do your own homework (don't take this websites word for it, without doing your own research and 'digging'); most people choose never to drink the stuff once they find out what is truthfully the toxic chemical addition that governments state is 'safe' to ingest !
It is vital people use the correct terms when speaking of this toxic chemical; for otherwise, there will be further confusion by promoting the idea that the community is drinking a more ‘natural’ form of fluoride ie. Calcium fluoride.
The 'spin' of governments around the world that are still using FLUOROSILICATES, is based on PROMOTING such a chemical - often aligned with vested interests ie. chemical companies and profits. There no basis to protect people's soft tissue health with such decisions.
The word 'fluoride' used by the ADA or Government departments, tends to lull people into thinking that FLUOROSILICATE, a known neuro-toxin banned in most of Europe (and this includes Belgium, the supplier of QLD's fluorosilicate), is 'natural' and therefore 'safe'.. and that is very far from the truth.
FLUOROSILICATES do not occur 'naturally' - they are a (man-made) bi-product of the fertiliser/Aluminium phosphate industry.
Fluorosilicate is CULMINATIVE in the soft tissues of the body ie. collects in the thyroid, kidneys, and bones, before FINALLY, reaching the hardest tissue in the body - the teeth!
Australian states are now lagging way behind modern scientific thinking to many parts of the world... The decision by the state government of Queensland (without any community consultation) to add fluorosilicate to potable drinking water supplies, has thrust the community back into the ‘dark ages’ way of thinking; and against recent data and facts from many medical, scientific and dental professionals solid reflections as to why the chemical should not be used; actions that are completely against a REVISED way of thinking ie. towards a GREENER, more WHOLISTIC learning ie. LESS TOXIC CHEMICALS in our environment and bodies; and especially, flies in the face of COMMON SENSE and the PRECAUTIONARY PRINCIPLE ie. ingesting a commonly banned, known neuro-toxin that interferes with enzyme action, soft tissue health, and DNA building blocks - DiSodium HexaFluorosilicic Acid ie. 'Fluoride' or, Fluorosilicate.
Dental decay can be reduced dramatically by not using white sugar at all (most soft drinks and many mixed fruit juices are loaded with refined white sugars - terrible for dental health). Best for all ages, is to drink pure unpolluted (reverse osmosis/distilled or spring) water. Replacing white flour products with wholefood grain products; and particularly, consume a diet based on a wide variety of fruit and vegetables should be the foundation of daily diet [please look over the Juice Plus+ links, within this website for further information on the preventative benefits of fruit & vegetables].
Especially, do not neglect quality daily dental habits ie. twice daily regular brushing and flossing; and having regular professional check-ups & cleans (nb. governments worldwide need to provide affordable dental care for all, so professional quality dental care becomes attainable for all).

97% of western Europe has chosen fluoride-free water . This includes: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, and Switzerland. (While some European countries add fluoride to salt, the majority do not.) Thus, rather than mandating fluoride treatment for the whole population, western Europe allows individuals the right to choose, or refuse, fluoride.
Tell me after listening to this statement that Fluoride is just a simple non-toxic chemical!

Queenslanders Against Water Fluoridation was formed in 2005 and obtained incorporation early in 2006 with an elected President, Treasurer and Secretary.
Our members are from all walks of life and professions, many are from the health and healing professions, including medical, and pharmaceutical. We have supporters from the Dental profession. The majority of us are parents or grandparents and we are all very conscious of not exposing our children to junk food, drinks or any potentially harmful chemicals. We understand that the key to healthy teeth is a low intake of processed food, especially that containing sugar, combined with regular cleaning/flossing and supported by regular visits to the dentist.
Through some of our own personal experiences as well as individual lengthy research of scientific publications, we had become aware of many adverse health effects associated with water fluoridation and decided that we do not wish to have fluoride chemicals added to the public water supply that we and our families and friends depend upon.
When faced with information from government agencies that misleadingly portrays water fluoridation as being safe for all citizens while governments deny it is mass medication, we formed this group to research all issues related to water fluoridation and to help relate these issues to the public and to all levels of government.
After a hiatus of nearly 30 years, just in the last 3 years across Australia we have seen an un-precedented and unjustified rush, to forcibly fluoridate every remaining un-fluoridated area. We have been actively lobbying state governments to not force fluoridation on the public and asking them to commence the health and safety studies that the National Health and Medical Research Council said should be done urgently as long ago as 1991.

The Origin of the Fluoridation Deception To understand the ongoing fluoridation debate, it is helpful to learn the genesis of the problem. Lynne McTaggart (an investigative journalist) lays out the dangers of fluoride use which have been generally ignored by health professionals and communities at large. "It's a rat poison," McTaggart said of fluoride which is added to the water supply of two thirds of America's cities. It's also in toothpaste, and in many other products one wouldn't suspect, such as canned beverages, baby food, pharmaceuticals, and pesticides, she said.

QUEENSLAND had the BIGGEST Fluorosilicate chemical spill into drinking water (at North Pine Dam) EVER in
AUSTRALIA's history; and depending on who you believe, at least 20 times, but possibly as high as 40 times over
the 'safe' dose.
But, the powers that be, 'sat on it' for 12 days before deigning to inform the public !
Well guess what? This happened just six months into the 'fluoridation' scheme.

A Queensland water company took more than two weeks to tell the government about a treatment plant malfunction that saw too much fluoride added to water supplies.
Premier Anna Bligh on Thursday said the malfunction occurred on May 1 but water service provider Seqwater only advised her government and affected councils on Wednesday night.
The premier said she’d been advised there was an “extremely minimal health risk” from the malfunction, which came during a shutdown for scheduled maintenance.
The malfunction affected water supplies from North Pine Dam.
Ms Bligh said higher than usual levels of fluoride had passed through a pipeline servicing the Warner and Brendale areas north of Brisbane.
The flow lasted for three hours on the morning of May 1.
Ms Bligh has ordered an immediate investigation to determine how fail-safe devices designed to prevent such an incident had malfunctioned.
“I want immediate results from this investigation to ensure it does not happen again,” she said.

WORST AUSTRALIAN FLUORIDE ACCIDENT
Premier Bligh today announced an accident at the North Pine Dam Water
treatment plant on May 1st when water massively overdosed with Sodium
Silicofluoride was released into the public water supply.
About 4,000 homes are believed to have received water containing 30mg/l
fluoride. This level is nearly 40 times higher than the 0.8 mg/L Qld Health
advised in Nov 2008 was to be the level for water supplies in SE Qld.
Water with 30 mg/L fluoride ion is equivalent to 120 fluoride tablets per
litre of water, or 30 fluoride tablets per 250 ml glass, yet the Premier
has denied that there was a health risk.
At a media opportunity on 5th October 2008 , the spokesperson for Prominent,
supplier of fluoridation equipment used in Qld, told Stephen Robertson,
then Qld Health Minister, that the maximum fluoridators could inject was 0.8
mg/L.
It appears that there has been three major malfunctions , one with the
injector continuing to inject much more fluoride into the water than it was
supposed to, combined with failures of the automatic inline monitoring and
automatic failsafe shutdown system.
Despite fluoride levels being able to be measured in seconds with ion
selective electrodes, it was not until 12 days after the accident that SEQ
Water received test results showing the extremely high fluoride levels. WHY
THIS HUGE DELAY ????
Despite the Premiers denial of harm, persons consuming this water were
overdosed 40 fold with fluoride. People particularly at risk of harm
include Diabetics, the Kidney impaired , people with chemical sensitivity
or hypersensitivity to fluoride and infants.
Mothers in the suburbs affected, who made up a day's worth of baby bottles
with tap water on the morning of 1st May would have overdosed vulnerable
infants at every feed . The huge bolus dose of fluoride could have
permanently damaged children's developing teeth but this damage, Dental
Fluorosis, will not be seen until their teeth erupt from the gums.
The Premier has previously received documented medical evidence that
exposure to fluoride at 1mg/L can drastically reduce lung function in a
sensitive person. It can only be imagined what could happen with a sensitive
person drinking water at 30mg/L.
Queenslanders For Safe Water, Air and Food Inc demand that the Premier and
Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young immediately shut down all Prominent
fluoride dosage units at all treatment plants until a full investigation is
carried out.
